1) Add Your Photo
As a coach, You are the face of your business (both literally and figuratively), so show off that smiling face. Your clients want to connect with a real person, someone who isn’t afraid to step out from behind the screen and stand behind their work. Showing your face adds credibility and a face to put to your message. As you know, being a coach requires some real confidence so don’t be shy, be yourself and add some personality to that pic.
2) Make it Super Clear What it is You Do, and Who You Do it For
Coaching is such a broad service. There are coaches for just about every situation. You might be clear on what it is you offer (…and what coaching actually is). But I bet your potential clients aren’t sure what you are offering, and if you are the perfect fit for their needs. That’s why you need to spell it out.
- What is coaching?
- What can it do for your clients?
- What type of coaching do you specialize in?
- Who is your ideal client? Who do you work for?
If you can answer that in just a few short sentences, then you are golden.
3) Don’t Make ’em Work For It
Connecting with you should be easy-peasy. Make sure you list all of the places your potential clients can connect. Your social media pages, contact information, and blog should be easy to find.
- Test all of the avenues in which your potential clients can get in contact with you. Click on those links, fill out your contact forms, send an email. Make sure that everything is in working order (you be surprised by how many people simply don’t test their contact forms).
- Let people know how fast they can expect a reply, and stick to it. If you have a hard time keeping up with your emails, find a system or technique to ensure that no emails slip through the cracks. For example, I use 17Hats workflows to remind me follow up. In the past, have also flagged emails that come from different contact forms to prioritize my emails. I find that I procrastinate when I feel that a response requires a long response, so have email templates for common questions and inquiries making it super easy to craft my emails (Take a peek and “Canned Responses” by Gmail). Find a system that works for you, and work it.
- When a client clicks on any of your social connections they should be brought to a vibrant and active place. So keep active on your social media accounts and connect with your ‘peeps’ often.
Great ideas that will be super easy to implement! Great post 🙂

TOTALLY. Seeing an inactive social media account makes me think the business venture isn’t really going anywhere…. I’m sort of guilty myself.
Looks like I’ll be sprucing up my own page 🙂
