Discovery: Mood Board + Questionnaire + Discovery Call
In order to offer you the best of our advice and guidance, we want to learn as much about you and your business as possible, so we ask that you fill out a comprehensive questionnaire and create a secret Pinterest board of images that you feel best represent your brand. We will then schedule a discovery call to go over your Pinterest board and questionnaire. We will then go over everything in detail, and put together a mood board to help decide the direction we go with the theme we choose, and the design changes we make.
WordPress Theme Design
Using your existing branding, and all of the info from the questionnaire, mood-board, and discovery call, we will make strategic customizations, like fonts, colors, menu, and changes to the homepage layout, so that your site is perfect and customized for your unique business.
What You Need to Get
Hosting & Domain
If you do not already have a domain name and hosting, you will need to purchase and set this up before the project begins. If you aren't sure how to do this, or need some help, I'd be happy to help.
Photos and Content
You will need to supply us with photos (We can provide stock images, but you will need to provide us with photos of you and your products) and copy (text) for your website. If you need some help, we can help you find an excellent copywriter or photographer.

CreateWe will review everything we learned during the discovery phase, and start creation of your website. You will have 3 opportunities to provide feedback, and request revisions. |
Launch!Once everything is approved, and you are thrilled, we are ready to release the work into the world! |
Follow upWe will fill in your client page with extra information (like, links to tutorials, a downloadable backup of your site), and you will have access to it for 1 year. |
All design projects take place during a block of time, with a start date and an end-date (launch date). Before your start-date, and during that time we both have a series of deadlines to meet to complete the project. Typically, the block of time is a 2-week period.

Hi, I'm Joelle, and I love to help people, like you, who are passionate about their business.
I am a Graphic Designer, that specializes in branding and WordPress web design for bloggers, freelancers, solopreneurs, and small businesses - like-minded entrepreneurs who have a great passion for what they do.
After graduating from St. Lawrence College with an advanced diploma in Graphic Design, I spent over a decade in a traditional print and publishing design studio as an educational illustrator and Graphic Designer.
With a passion for branding and design, over a decade of professional experience, and a love of building WordPress websites, I went on to launch Format Creative, a boutique design studio (just me, my dog, and occasionally, a few select freelancers), in 2011.
I am fueled by the enthusiasm in that moment when all the elements come together, and everything just clicks.
In my down-time I like nothing more than to curl up with a (so bad it's good) zombie book, and daydream about my next Disney World vacation.

What is the payment schedule?
We ask that a non-refundable deposit be made when booking your project, with final payment due on launch day. Payment plans are available on request.
